Neonatology Opportunities in a Thriving Region
Pediatrix Medical Group of Washington is seeking a skilled Neonatologist to enhance our practice in a celebrated agricultural area known for its wine and hops production. Our facility, MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital (MYMH), features a 15-bed Level IIIA NICU dedicated to serving South Central Washington.
As a regional perinatal center for Yakima County and surrounding areas, we support four federally designated critical access hospitals and a larger rural hospital. With an annual delivery rate of approximately 2,500 births, we proudly operate the only Level III NICU within a 70-mile radius.
The NICU has a rich history of over 40 years in delivering exceptional neonatal medical care to this vibrant rural community. Our average daily census stands at 10 patients, and we are actively working to rebuild our robust services in collaboration with high-level community obstetric care and maternal-fetal medicine.
Comprehensive Support Team:
Our team includes Speech/Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists who provide consultation, neurodevelopmental assessments, and recommendations for developmentally supportive therapies.
We maintain a collaborative relationship with our sister practice in Spokane, conducting weekly meetings to review clinical guidelines, host journal clubs, and present morbidity and mortality conferences.
Our long-standing partnerships with three children's hospitals in the state enhance our ability to provide regional pediatric support for medically complex patients requiring higher-level NICU care or ongoing subspecialty services post-discharge.
Physicians typically work in 5-day blocks with the convenience of call from home, promoting a flexible work schedule and a healthy work-life balance. Yakima is centrally located in Washington State, offering an outdoor enthusiast's paradise.
With an average of 300 sunny days per year, the region boasts a unique blend of mountains, desert, and farmland, providing four seasons of outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and fishing. Yakima is also recognized for its agricultural abundance, with local orchards supplying apples globally and vineyards producing exceptional wines.
Located just a short drive from major cities, Yakima offers a lower cost of living and diverse housing options, from ranch-style homes to modern residences. The community is known for its excellent schools and strong sense of belonging, making it an ideal place to live, work, and raise a family.
Compensation and Benefits:
Our clinicians enjoy a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $210k to $275k, dependent on experience, along with opportunities for annual practice bonuses. Full-time employees and their qualified dependents receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and various retirement savings options.
