Job Title: Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine appropriate radiographic technique and position patients using immobilization and support devices to ensure optimum film quality.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment, immobilization, and support devices as necessary, using tact and courtesy at all times.
  • Determine appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy.
  • Secure history from patients regarding reason for prescribed test and record on appropriate form for radiologists' information.
  • Operate radiographic, fluoroscopic, portable, computed radiography, and PACS equipment to ensure quality examinations.
  • Operate portable radiographic equipment in patients' rooms or surgery as required.
  • Operate all components, including all locking devices, on radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Load imaging cassettes where indicated.
  • Adhere to department standards of radiographic quality.
  • Label all images appropriately following department-established criteria and standards.
  • Use appropriate tech markers on all radiographic images.
  • Check radiographic quality with quality control designates prior to patients' dismissal.
  • Document pertinent and required information on performance improvement logs and data sheets.
  • Deliver patient care and adhere to department standards of continued quality improvement.
  • Maintain a timely flow of patients in room assignments or work areas.
  • Transport patients when indicated to meet customer needs.
  • Secure history from patients regarding reason for prescribed test and record on appropriate form for radiologists' information.
  • Maintain positive customer interaction, including proper phone etiquette.
  • Follow in-and-out patient identification policy.
  • Prepare radiographic/fluoroscopic room by ensuring all needed supplies and equipment are available.
  • Prepare mixtures and/or contrast media following department protocols.
  • Ensure a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining continued awareness of safety hazards.
  • Adhere to safety practices and provide a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Must promote patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
  • Previous radiology experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Radiology Information Computer System.
  • Ability to anticipate patient, employee, and department needs and refer for action.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Licensed Radiographic Technologist by the IDNS/IEMA.
  • CPR Certification.
  • ARRT Registry eligible.
Working Conditions:
