Job Title: Dental Hygienist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team at the Minnesota Veterans Homes. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality oral health care services to our residents, including dental hygiene and preventative services. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our veterans and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide dental hygiene and preventative services to residents, including cleanings, exams, and education on oral health care.
  • Develop and implement individualized oral health care plans for residents.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices in oral health care.
Requirements:
  • Registration with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist, in good standing.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain by time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Experience providing dental services to a geriatric or special needs population.
  • Experience providing 1:1 education regarding brushing techniques.
Additional Requirements:
  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
  • Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s)
