Key Responsibilities- Design and develop new products in a team-based, stage-gate development process
- Analyze and resolve design challenges and quality issues through engineering analysis, including FEA and CFD, tolerance analysis, statistical methods, and design of experiments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and design, to drive innovation and growth
- Develop and document engineering specifications and material requirements
- Process ECNs and follow established document control procedures
- Plan and execute effective component and system-level experimentation to verify and validate engineering designs
- Prepare clear and concise documentation for designs, including drawings, inspection requirements, calibration procedures, and work instructions
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, both orally and in written fashion
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 3-5 years of relative experience
- Advanced level experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment
- Working knowledge of die casting, injection molding, machining, and/or fabrication
- Comfortable working in multiple software packages and complicated surface profiles
- Ability to produce supporting documentation, including 2-D models and FEA analysis
- Proficiency and expertise in 3-D modeling
- Strong analytical skills in hydraulics/fluidics, mechanisms, dynamics, and tolerance analysis
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience in design of hydraulic systems, plastic injection molded parts, zinc and brass castings, seals
- Experience using Creo, FEA software, statistical software
- Knowledge of 6 sigma and design of 6 sigma principles
- Knowledge of statistics, failure analysis, and design of experiments
