Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced QC Analytical Chemist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analytical chemical testing, support of development and validation of analytical procedures, silicone material formulations, laboratory operations for intra-ocular lens manufacturing facility. Reports to the Manager of QC and Analytical Group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct analytical testing/analyses including molecular spectroscopy (UV-Vis and FT-IR), wet chemistry, GC, LC (HPLC and GPC). Troubleshooting as needed.
- Perform physical testing including viscosity, refractive index determination, silicone hardness.
- Keep data and result records in accordance with cGMP, conduct verification and review of analysis results.
- Evaluation of new incoming materials.
- GMP document revision and document writing as required.
Requirements:
- Fluency in cGMP level of analytical processes, in particular those needed for biomedical devices.
- Fluency in silicone or other polymer formulations.
- Fluency in chemical methods, both basic and advanced.
- Background in basic polymer science and technology is preferred.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
Competencies:
- Proficient in sample preparations, wet chemistry, spectroscopy, and hands-on experience with analytical procedures such as GC and LC.
- Expertise in analytical and laboratory techniques.
- Ability to write protocols and reports.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Creative technical skills to support innovative approaches.
- Background in basic polymer science and technology is preferred.
