Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dialysis Technician II to join our team at Washington University in St. Louis. As a Dialysis Technician II, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dialysis services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and terminate dialysis treatments, perform phlebotomy, and maintain accurate records.
  • Arrange and maintain equipment and supplies for dialysis procedures, including preparation of dialysate solutions.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and dialysis treatment parameters, assessing patient signs and symptoms and providing treatment accordingly.
  • Communicate patient information and changes in patient condition to the team leader, documenting results per unit policies.
  • Transport, weigh, and assist patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and chairs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dialysis experience and medical assistant certification.
  • Organizational, interpersonal, communication, and phlebotomy skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and respond appropriately in emergent situations.
  • Working knowledge of computers and mathematical ability.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months of experience in a hospital or outpatient healthcare facility setting.
  • CCHT certification by a nationally recognized board within 18 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire date.
