As a Registered Nurse at Owensboro Health, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate, and serving as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team.
- Assess learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have an Associate's degree or higher or Diploma in Nursing required upon hire, and a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required within 5 years of employment in this position. You must also be RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse and eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky, and BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 45 days of employment in this position.
Skills and AttributesYou will require critical thinking skills and decisive judgment, and be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. You must also be able to work under minimal supervision and be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects of varying weights.
