Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Class A CDL Delivery Driver to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and safe deliveries across the country.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and safety-conscious individual to drive our tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight routes. You will be responsible for delivering and/or unloading food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

* Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers to ensure accurate and timely responses to their inquiries.
* Function as a team player within the department and organization, taking on additional duties as required to best serve the company.
* Conduct thorough safety checks, including pre- and post-trip inspections, to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
* Report any safety issues or needed repairs promptly.
* Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies, immediately reporting any safety hazards.
* Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight, performing count checks of items and verifying customer invoices.
* Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and legibly, including freight documentation.
* Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedules, unloading products from trailers and transporting them into designated customer storage areas.
* Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisors about removing orders according to company policy.
* Verify delivery of items with customers, obtain proper signatures, and collect payment where required.
* Load customer returns onto trailers and secure doors, ensuring that tractors, trailers, and freight are always locked and secured.

Requirements

* 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
* High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.
* Valid CDL A license.
* Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
* Must be 21 years of age.
* Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
* Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
* Pass road test.
* Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
* Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shifts.

Salary & Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary, including a $100,000 average annual income, along with health benefits and career growth opportunities. Drivers are also eligible for a $12,000 sign-on bonus.
