Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced Field Service Specialist II to join our team at Smiths Detection. As a key member of our service team, you'll be responsible for traveling to various locations within the Indianapolis Metro area, including airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, and other sites as required. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting, servicing, installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment for our customers. You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and providing exceptional customer service.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills, a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork, and the ability to work safely in varied environments and around dangerous industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, service, install, repair, and maintain equipment for customers.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Travel to various locations within the Indianapolis Metro area, including airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, and other sites as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or related trade certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical) or military training (electrical, mechanical, electronics).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork.
  • Able to work safely in varied environments and around dangerous industrial equipment.
