The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care and coordinating all functions in the unit. In partnership with the management team, the CNC monitors and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care to positively affect patient outcomes within the scope of nursing practice.
- Utilize strong clinical judgment and competent or expert nursing skills while following established policies, including those related to confidentiality.
- Effectively document patient information according to organizational policy.
- Prioritize tasks for efficiency and productivity, incorporating time management skills.
- Follow established processes for medication administration and narcotic control, employing clinical judgment as necessary.
- Delegate tasks to other healthcare team members, considering their knowledge, skill, and experience, while following The Five Rights Of Delegation.
- Adhere to hospital and unit policies, resolving clinical problems and conflicts in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to report critical information or changes in patient condition.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development, completing annual educational requirements and other specified learning activities on time.
- Demonstrate professional caring practices through sensitivity, respect, engagement, and assessing for patient and family satisfaction.
- Create a safe and therapeutic atmosphere for patients, co-workers, other departments, and customers.
- Registered Nurse License issued by the Department of Health Professions, Commonwealth of Virginia, or a multi-state privilege granted by virtue of holding a license in one of the states participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact Agreement.
- BLS, Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association.
- NRP, Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
- PALS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association.
- TNCC, Trauma Nursing Core Course from the Emergency Nurses Association.
