Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiography Technologist II to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a key member of our echocardiography laboratory, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties necessary to the acquisition of echocardiographic examinations and maintenance of the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiographic examinations and maintain the normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory.
  • Independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of various cardiac imaging procedures.
  • Prepare, administer, and document activities related to ultrasound enhancing agents in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verify archival storage and/or transfer of data, post-processing of data if applicable.
  • Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with a licensed practitioner in the performance of sonographic interventional procedures.
  • Ensure equipment parameters for diagnostic, interventional procedures are of optimal technical and administrative quality as requested by a licensed practitioner.
  • Perform diagnostic, interventional imaging sonographic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner or during appropriate educational activities.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a sonographer or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification.
  • Adult Echocardiography: ARDMS (AE) or CCI credential.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
