Job Summary

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include collecting data related to patient status, performing basic nursing procedures, and assisting with treatments and procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient care equipment and providing a safe and comfortable environment for patients.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including turning and repositioning patients, and transporting patients as needed.
  • Provide patient care as delegated by the RN, including non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, and perineal care.
  • Collect and document patient data, including vital signs, fluid intake and output, and basic and sterile specimen collection.
  • Run errands, answer telephones, and respond to call lights as needed.
  • Perform point of care testing as trained and delegated by the RN, and report lab values to the RN.
  • Provide and document comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent OR post high school diploma / highest degree earned;
  • Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
