Project Lead

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified professional to lead the development and implementation of high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications.

You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications, collaborating with product managers, designers, and clients to make decisions and deliver valuable working software to clients and their users.

Our engineers are agile and retrospective, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the quality and maintainability of our code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement the HiL SW Validation Cycle plan, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
  • Lead the gathering of product requirements and project scope across multiple teams or business functions.
  • Monitor progress to plan and design a recovery strategy if the project deviates from the baseline plan.
  • Assemble and publish effective status reports for various audiences.
  • Design and deliver Executive-level presentations to support the governance process for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Conduct retrospectives on completed projects to support process, policy, and tool-set improvements.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively across written, verbal, and presentation formats to various audiences.
  • Ability to develop schedules using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to design and document a project charter that includes scope, schedule, budget, and risk management plan.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking techniques to analyze problems, develop solutions, build resource forecasts, or manage risk.
  • Ability to use either Waterfall or Agile methods to manage projects that may comprise both software and hardware.
  • Ability to lead the gathering of product requirements and project scope across a multi-function team.
  • Excellent skill at using MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Desired PMP certification with accompanying experience managing projects to a successful conclusion.
  • Desired Agile scrum master certification.
  • Desired dSpace Hardware/Software experience.
  • Experience managing a geo-dispersed project team.
  • Experience working in a concurrent software development environment as part of a complex build and merge management process.
  • 2+ years SAFe/Agile/Lean experience preferred.
