Job Summary

As a Pilot Rotor Wing Aviation Specialist with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise in aviation operations, Federal Aviation Regulations, and aeronautical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations and aeronautical guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to verify the aircraft's airworthiness, ensuring compliance with Air Methods policies and procedures.
  • Final authority on aircraft operations and passenger safety, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with medical flight teams to ensure a smooth and efficient transportation experience.
  • Complete required documentation and participate in regular meetings, activities, and community outreach initiatives.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Commercial and Instrument Rating for category and class of aircraft, with a First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.
  • Minimum 2000 total flight hours, with 1500 hours in category, 1000 hours PIC in category, and 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
