Job Description

Position Overview:

The Kitchen Sanitation Specialist is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen area. This role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and various cooking equipment. The specialist will ensure that the dishwashing area is kept tidy and compliant with health and safety standards.

Employment Status: Part-time

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Executive Chef

Safety Rating: Normal

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals as required for the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 5 hours) and perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety protocols.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical requirements for this position include standing for the duration of the shift, frequent bending, lifting, and carrying of items. The employee will often use hands for repetitive tasks and must communicate effectively with other kitchen staff. There may be exposure to various hazards such as cuts, slips, and burns, as well as frequent contact with water and cleaning solutions.
