Key Responsibilities:
As the sole Fiscal Coordinator for the department, you will play a vital role in our administration, assisting the Fiscal Manager with:
- Procurement of goods and services.
- Cash handling and invoicing.
- Record keeping and administrative support.
You will manage a significant volume of purchase orders and credit card transactions annually, alongside overseeing the deposit or invoicing of over $1 million in revenue. This position is based in the Alaska Airlines Center on the UAA main campus.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should be a highly organized and motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic intercollegiate athletic office environment. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- A commitment to enhancing processes to support departmental goals.
Experience in general purchasing and/or cash handling is essential, along with proficiency in standard office software such as Excel, Word, email, and databases.
Minimum Requirements:
A college education in Accounting or a related field, combined with at least one year of entry-level accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt staff position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive employee benefits package. The University of Alaska provides a generous compensation package, including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and their family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
