We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. As a Research Scientist, you will play a critical role in advancing our research enterprise by developing, integrating, and maintaining liquid handling systems for our next-generation large slide format.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, build, and validate liquid handling systems to enable staining of large slide formats
- Collaborate with data analysis and research personnel to integrate equipment and data
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for equipment setup, troubleshooting, and analysis
- Interface with vendors and researchers to identify and determine requirements
- Conduct detailed systems analysis to define system scope, objectives, and implementation approach
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting conducting scientific research
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
- Proven experience achieving results in a scientific research environment
- Doctorate in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a laboratory setting conducting scientific research
- Deep knowledge base in specific field
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 and excellent benefits, including health benefits for staff and their family with access to the renowned university medical network; eligibility for retirement plans with employer contributions after six months of employment; tuition benefits for staff and their family; free Professional Development classes; central Los Angeles location with easy access to commuter trains, buses, and free tram pick-up services; discounts to sporting and other campus events.
