Job Overview:

AIMS Locum Tenens LLC is seeking a qualified Digital Medical Sonographer to provide comprehensive ultrasound services at a medical facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury.

This role requires a strong knowledge of sonography equipment, cross-sectional anatomy, and the ability to work independently. The sonographer will work closely with radiologists and physicians to ensure accurate and effective imaging and diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Interaction:
Receive and position patients for ultrasound examinations, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort throughout the process.

2. Ultrasound Procedures:
Perform a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations, including OB/GYN, vascular, and general sonography. Utilize B-Mode, real-time ultrasound, and Doppler techniques to capture diagnostic images.

3. Equipment Operation:
Select, set up, adjust, and operate ultrasound equipment. Modify exams if anomalies are discovered to ensure full and accurate findings. Maintain and adjust ultrasound equipment as needed.

4. Diagnostic Support:
Assist radiologists or physicians in reading or evaluating results. Notify physicians of scans requiring immediate attention and provide preliminary information regarding diagnostic evaluation.

5. Administrative Tasks:

Perform associated administrative duties, including documenting patient information, verifying and closing consults, and maintaining accurate records in the electronic medical record system.


6. Quality Control/Assurance:
Follow current Quality Control/Assurance plans in place at the medical facility. Ensure all ultrasound images meet diagnostic standards.

7. Training and Education:
Provide training to staff in the use of ultrasound equipment. Attend and participate in all required training prescribed by the medical facility.

8. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety, privacy, and accreditation standards, including HIPAA, AAAHC, and TJC.

Requirements:

1. Degree/Education:

Must have graduated from a civilian two-year x-ray/radiology technologist program with an additional year of cross-training as an ultrasound technologist OR completed the Army x-ray technologist training program with an MOS of 68P.


2. Certifications:
Must have and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross (ARC). Online courses do not satisfy this requirement.

Recertification must be maintained at contractor expense in a current status at all times while performing services under this contract.


3. Experience:

Must have a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing hands-on ultrasound technologist within the last three years.

Experience must include scanning patients of all ages, and the technologist must be registered in OB/GYN, vascular, and general sonography.


4. Board Certification:
Must be certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

5. Licensure/Registration:
Must meet all licensure requirements, including being a U.S. citizen or meeting the requirements of AR 25-2.

Must pass a criminal history background check and not be listed on the Health and Human Services (HHS) list of providers excluded from federally funded health care programs.


6. Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in performing and interpreting complex ultrasound procedures.

Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and sonographic physics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during diagnostic procedures.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Work Schedule:
Services shall be provided in shifts anytime 24 hours a day , Monday through Friday. Shifts may be 4 to 10 hours in length and will be consecutive, except for a 30-minute unpaid break.

The sonographer will work four or five days a week for a total of 40 hours, excluding federal holidays unless on-call.
