Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to food preparation and sanitation standards in a safe environment.
- Assist in preparing and serving meals according to dietary prescriptions from healthcare providers, following the daily menu.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Director of Dietary Services.
Essential Skills
- Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Competent in visually monitoring residents and responding to their verbal needs.
- Capable of bending, stooping, and stretching to assist residents.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and operate kitchen equipment safely.
- Prepared to respond to emergencies, including resident choking and evacuation procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the food service sector is advantageous.
- Must complete annual Tuberculosis (TB) testing and Health Assessments.
- Knowledge of sanitary food preparation standards is essential.
- Required to provide references and undergo a criminal background check.
Work Environment
The work setting is well-lit and climate-controlled, with potential exposure to residents with communicable diseases or those who may exhibit challenging behaviors. Occasionally, outdoor work may be required during resident events.
