Job Summary

The Lane Construction Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Survey Manager to join its team. As a key member of our survey department, you will be responsible for providing construction layout data and machine control/survey models to support high field production levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project layout and construction data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in field operations.
  • Establish and maintain standardized machine control/survey models and construction survey data for project-level operations.
  • Delegate and schedule work with survey technicians, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Collaborate with the survey department to create and implement department-level standard operating procedures.
  • Provide guidance and training to field survey operations and standard operating procedures for the utilization of survey department construction layout data.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for growth and development within the survey department.
  • Perform calculations, including alignments, drainage, structures, and roadway modeling, to support project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain machine and data collector files for projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in field operations.
  • Conduct quality control checks on data calculated within the department, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Adhere to Lane values and principles in all job duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in survey field and/or office software, with a focus on heavy highway construction projects.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of heavy highway and survey practices and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Fluent knowledge of Trimble Terramodel and Business Center Software.
  • Familiarity with various field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks and lead and direct the work of others.
