Job Summary
CEDARS-SINAI seeks a skilled Clinical Operations Specialist to support physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a large medical group practice, with a focus on surgery scheduling in a high-volume setting.

The Clinical Operations Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining a smooth workflow by performing administrative tasks, including patient communications, health education, and translation services. Responsibilities include:
  • Scheduling surgeries, verifying insurance, and acquiring health clearances to ensure pre-operative studies are completed prior to surgery.
  • Managing physician referral work queues and completing referrals in Epic corresponding to PPC tasks.
  • Coordinating with medical assistants and other staff to troubleshoot patient/physician issues and take necessary action for resolution.
  • Performing administrative functions, including correspondence, forms, and request authorizations, as well as workers' compensation-related tasks.
  • Completing credentialing for physician facilities, updating CVs, and ensuring medical staff privileges are current.
  • Monitoring workflow, assisting in work assignments, and recommending areas for improvement.
  • Coordinating MD mentoring opportunities and working with the billing and HIS departments to deliver information for chart audits.
  • Acting as a liaison between physicians and patients, providing surgical scheduling information and support before, during, and after surgery.

Estimated Salary: $34,200 - $51,300 per year
