Position Overview

The Travel Histology Technician will play a vital role in the laboratory by ensuring the accurate processing and analysis of tissue samples. This position involves a commitment to high standards of quality and patient care.

Certification Requirements
  • HTL certification from a recognized certifying body is mandatory.
  • Histotechnician AAS NY State license is required.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform duties as a HISTO TECH during assigned shifts.
  • Work during daytime hours, with start times at either 5:30 AM or 6:00 AM.
  • Engage in a 13-week assignment.
  • Handle the processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of surgical and autopsy tissues.
  • Prepare and stain cytopathology specimens in accordance with established protocols for examination by Pathologists.
  • Manage patient tissue samples responsibly, ensuring proper documentation and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Utilize specialized techniques for diagnostic purposes and actively participate in the Quality Assurance program.
Educational Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry is required.
  • HTL certification from a recognized agency is also acceptable.
Schedule Information

This position requires availability for daytime shifts, starting at either 5:30 AM or 6:00 AM.
