In this role, we seek an individual who is prepared to provide various forms of support, including overseeing maintenance technicians and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Primary Objective
Oversees the activities of maintenance technicians and equipment to guarantee continuous operation within designated areas of the manufacturing facility.
Major Function and ScopeAct as a key leader in developing and implementing safe work practices and establishing safety condition standards, particularly in ergonomics and material handling.
Supervises personnel engaged in the preventative maintenance of equipment and facilities.Ensures necessary training is provided to maintain essential technical skills.
Collects and documents data such as requisitions, time spent, tagging information, preventative maintenance records, and machine documentation as needed.
Assists the Maintenance Manager with the preventative maintenance program and identifies ways to enhance equipment efficiency.
Supports the Maintenance Manager in managing spare parts inventory.
Ensures adherence to all safety and environmental standards, positioning oneself as a leader in fostering a clean and safe work environment for all associates.
Regularly conducts safety meetings and pre-shift objectives meetings.
Develops and implements training procedures to educate employees on new processes and equipment while enhancing their skills.
Analyzes issues that arise and determines actions to minimize problems, reduce costs, and improve yields, recommending changes and implementing them upon approval.
Maintains performance records for employees, regularly communicates performance feedback, and coaches employees on methods to enhance their performance, including reviewing time records.
Evaluates employee performance and administers disciplinary actions according to company policy as necessary.Schedules employee work hours and vacation time to ensure adequate coverage for the department.
Collaborates with support teams in Production and Raw Materials to coordinate ongoing support for the facility.
Performs additional duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
A minimum of three years of industrial maintenance experience along with prior supervisory experience is required.
A college or technical degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related field is highly preferred. A high school diploma combined with five or more years of maintenance supervisory experience may substitute for a degree. A minimum of three years of technical supervisory experience is essential. Knowledge of electrical, PLC, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electronic systems is required.
Competencies
Core competencies include effective communication and problem-solving skills, mathematical aptitude, data analysis and interpretation, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is necessary. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
