Pediatric Psychologist Job Summary

The Pediatric Psychologist will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to assess and treat children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Learning Disorders, Autism, and behavior disorders associated with complex medical conditions.

Education, Training, and Licensure
  • Doctorate degree (PhD/PsyD) in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited university preferred.
  • Consideration may also be extended to candidates with a doctorate in counseling or school psychology.
  • Clinical internship (one year) in Pediatric Psychology or related psychology discipline (APA-accredited program highly preferred).
  • Post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology preferred.
  • Current and unrestricted license (or license-eligible) from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
Job Standards and Performance ExpectationsClinical Activities
  • Provides direct patient care, including psychological evaluations, feedback visits, psychotherapy, and/or additional care management activities.
  • Communicates evaluation findings, interpretation of diagnostic tests, diagnostic impressions, and treatment recommendations in both written and verbal formats.
  • Provides timely feedback on evaluations and/or treatment, as appropriate, to referring providers.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary staffing and other patient care coordination efforts.
  • Complies with all timelines and deadlines for documentation, etc., as outlined by department leadership.
Professional Development and Training
  • Participates in didactics, case conferences, seminars, rounds, and other professional development activities as assigned or requested.
  • Participates in the supervision of Psychometrists, graduate students, and/or other clinical staff or student volunteers as directed by department leadership.
