About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Residential Care Specialist to join our team at Community Residences. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in the field of Human Services. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a nurturing temperament.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create a positive and supportive living environment that promotes independence and autonomy for our clients.
  2. Develop and implement Individual Plans of Care that address the unique needs and goals of each individual.
  3. Provide medical assistance, including administering medication as prescribed, monitoring health changes, and reporting any concerns to the RN or Program Director.
  4. Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe living environment, including the house, properties, and vehicle.
  6. Participate in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  7. Foster positive relationships with clients, families, and community members.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Show willingness to learn about current issues in the field of developmental disabilities.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Display patience, empathy, and understanding when working with clients.
  • Have a valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Be able to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
