Job Summary

The Residence Director is a key member of the Residence Life team at Western New England University, responsible for the overall management of a residential facility. This includes student development, staff supervision, community building, programming, and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of a residential facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students.
  • Supervise a team of Resident Advisors and at least one Head Resident Advisor, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the residential community.
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote student engagement, retention, and success.
  • Respond to student conduct issues and facilitate conflict resolution, working closely with campus partners to ensure a fair and equitable process.
  • Manage facilities, operations, and building maintenance, ensuring a clean and well-maintained living environment.
  • Perform administrative duties, including budget management, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote university initiatives and goals, including diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and develop a team of Resident Advisors.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the residential community.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
