- Collaborate as a team member to support the entire perioperative process.
- Efficiently manage time, equipment, supplies, and personnel for effective case management.
- Supervise and direct patient care within a single operating room.

- Assist with inventory management to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Address patient needs during the admission process, focusing on outpatient requirements.
- Safely transport patients to the operating room, adhering to policies and safety protocols.
- Confirm patient identity and surgical intervention in accordance with established procedures.
- Review patient medical records to coordinate care with the healthcare team.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients throughout their experience.
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times.
- Explain the intraoperative phase of procedures to patients.
- Perform the duties of a circulating nurse following approved operating room protocols.
- Prepare the operating room according to the specific needs of each procedure.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are functioning properly before the procedure begins.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist anesthesia personnel during administration.
- Support safe patient positioning and prepare the operative site as per established guidelines.
- Monitor compliance with aseptic techniques throughout the procedure.
- Assist in identifying and confirming the operative site.
- Ensure patient comfort by monitoring the physical environment.
- Facilitate continuity of care by communicating effectively with other perioperative staff.
- Respond promptly to the needs of patients and physicians.
- Accurately interpret and implement verbal orders and directions.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Communicate patient status effectively to other care providers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Active RN license in Alaska.
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Strong ethical and moral character references.
- Proficient language skills for effective communication in American English.
