Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations on patients, producing high-quality images for interpretation by physicians, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive ultrasound exams using specialized equipment to capture detailed images of various organs and tissues within the body.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and applying gel to the skin to facilitate imaging.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic images, adjusting settings as needed to capture clear and accurate pictures.
- Analyze images to ensure quality and accurately represent the area being examined.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review images, discuss findings, and provide accurate reports.
- Maintain patient records and documentation related to procedures performed, including images and reports.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff during procedures.
- Stay updated on advances in ultrasound technology and techniques through continuing education and training.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Ultrasound Technician.
- Proficiency in performing a variety of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal.
- Knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification in ultrasound technology from an accredited program.
- Current licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
