Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our team at Sharetec. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in modernizing and transforming our existing software, ensuring high-quality code, scalability, and security.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $145,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salaries, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, and an employee referral program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Set high standards for our software, ensuring excellent quality, scalability, and security.
  2. Document processes, products, and APIs.
  3. Mentor and coach a team of Software Engineers.
  4. Collaborate on releases and ensure timely delivery.
  5. Participate in road mapping sessions.
  6. Review code and provide guidance through pair programming.
  7. Promote Agile Scrum principles.
  8. Help transform and improve our existing software and develop new features for customers.
Requirements
  1. 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, with experience as a technical lead.
  2. 2+ years managing databases such as Progress OpenEdge, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.
  3. Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  4. Familiarity with major backend languages like C#, C++, .Net, Ruby, Go.
  5. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  6. A willingness to mentor, coach, and sponsor other engineers in their career development.
  7. A strong product sense, maintaining empathy for internal and external users, and actively seeking feedback from them about your work.
  8. A keen understanding of development ergonomics and taking pride in catering to the needs of your engineer customers.
  9. A comfort level working with ambiguity and a drive to collaborate on complex problems, figure out solutions, and execute them effectively.
  10. An ability to balance speed and quality of features to create durable technology that is robust, failure-resistant, and easy to maintain.
  11. A commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and assessing new technologies to better solve problems.
Bonus Skills
  1. CI/CD pipeline creation with Gitlab.
  2. Experience moving applications into docker containers from scratch.
  3. Familiarity with Progress OpenEdge.
  4. Experience with Angular and/or Typescript.
