Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bar Service Professional to join our team at CRAVE. As a key member of our service staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of our bar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Taking Orders and Serving Guests: Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests, ensuring prompt and accurate service.
  • Verifying Age Requirements: Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
  • Providing Excellent Service: Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times, making them feel appreciated and valued.
  • Counting and Serving Drinks: Count drinks guests are served, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Offering Assistance: Be attentive and offer your assistance before guests have to ask for it, providing a seamless and enjoyable experience.
  • Working as a Team: Collaborate with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and efficient food and beverage service.
  • Collecting Payment: Collect payment for drinks served, handling cash and credit transactions with ease.
  • Mixing and Serving Drinks: Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks, serving wine, bottled or draft beer, and other beverages.
  • Managing Excessive Drinking: Limit problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking or ordering taxis or other transportation.
  • Preparing Bar Ingredients: Prepare bar ingredients made in-house, such as simple syrups, sweet and sour, and prep and stock all garnishes.
  • Cleaning and Restocking: Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment, restock glassware from the dishwasher, and remove recycling full of empty bottles.
  • Balancing Cash Drawer: Balance the cash drawer when your shift is completed.
Requirements
  • Alcohol Service Certification: A plus, but not required.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills: Handle money and give correct change.
  • Basic Reading Skills: Read and understand menus, recipes, and other written materials.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and other technology used in the bar.
  • Knowledge of Beer, Wine, and Spirits: Familiarity with standard drink recipes and the ability to make recommendations.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Clear and enthusiastic communication with guests, coworkers, managers, and chefs.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
