Software Engineer

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Software Engineer - Flight Systems, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and testing software that controls our flight systems for the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles.
You'll work closely with our software and hardware engineers to create highly reliable software that enables Starship to become an orbital vehicle. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing autonomous software systems and simulations to validate them
- Developing prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
- Designing, testing, and integrating software for mission-critical systems
- Providing technical leadership and focusing on continuous improvement

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline and 4+ years of professional experience in software development; or 6+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree
- 4+ years of professional experience in C++, Python, or Rust
- Strong software design and development skills
- Experience with Rust, control theory, and fault-tolerant software design
- Thorough knowledge of computer architecture and networks
- Knowledge of physics, math, and electronics
- Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
- Creative approach to problem solving
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
