Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our NICU team. As a Registered Nurse in our NICU unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide education and support to families.
Responsibilities:- Assist with case load in a 22-bed NICU unit, which can flex up with twins.
- Work in a team of approximately 50 RNs, with staffing adjusted based on census.
- Provide excellent patient and family-oriented care with strong teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Float to Mother-Infant Unit to care for well babies, with optional floating to Pediatrics and PICU.
- Administer medications via IV, PO, and SubQ routes.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as ECG, UGI/Barium Enema, MRI, and HUS.
- Participate in procedures including Circumcision assistance, NGT placement, IV starts, and lab draws (heel stick/arterial draw).
- Operate various types of equipment, including Giraffe isolettes, Medfusion 3500 syringe pumps, Baxter Sigma Spectrum infusion pumps, and multiple ventilators.
- Utilize Meditech for EMR documentation.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a NICU setting.
- Previous Level III NICU experience.
- Central Line Maintenance (PICC/UVC/UAC) experience.
- Experience with Intubated/Vented Patients.
- Experience with Bubble CPAP/NIPPV.
- Experience with Gestational Age as low as 23 weeks.
- IV Drips experience.
