About the Role

As a General Merchandise Team Leader at Target, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth, improving inventory management, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members, executing daily and weekly workloads, and ensuring the sales floor is always stocked, accurately priced, and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service and Sales Floor Execution
    • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience
    • Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement
  • Inventory Management and Fulfillment
    • Help lead the understanding of how operational procedures impact shortage, profitability, in-store replenishment, and inventory accuracy
    • Assist in developing a plan to resolve gaps in GM and Fulfillment processes
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Help empower the team to create a consistent experience for our guests
    • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team
  • Operational Excellence
    • Help create a scheduling plan based on monthly and weekly business workload and guest traffic
    • Enable team members to stay up-to-date on relevant trends and products
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Lead and hold others accountable
    • Communicate effectively on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
    • Work independently and as part of a team
    • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
