Job Description: Bartender

The bartender will ensure guests are satisfied with their drinks, food, and overall service, responding to requests and recognizing when meals or drinks are finished.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in accordance with state regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the workplace.
  • Capable of performing basic math and handling cash transactions.
  • Knowledgeable about beer, wine, and spirits, including standard drink recipes.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • Physical capability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Engage with guests in a professional manner.
  • Take full responsibility for ensuring a quality guest experience.
  • Gather information on specials and side work from management at the beginning of each shift.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of company bar standards and utilize them to manage the bar effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Complete assigned side work throughout the shift and at closing.
  • Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in line with company standards.
  • Learn the names of regular patrons and recognize them.
  • Process guest payments, including credit card transactions and making change as necessary.
  • Ensure glassware is washed and sanitized properly.
  • Maintain an attractive and functional display of bottles and glasses to support efficient drink preparation.
  • Assist in restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge Requirements:

Understanding of guest relations, bar standards, liquor, beer, and wine knowledge, POS operation, side work duties, recipes, mixology, menu knowledge, and local and state laws related to bartending and alcohol service.
