Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Assembler to contribute to a significant project that aids the U.S. Navy. This role involves working within a dynamic team focused on the installation of advanced C5ISR systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a small team or operate independently.
  • Interpret blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to fabricate and assemble various electromechanical and electronic components.
  • Work in environments that may present challenges such as drafts, noise, and temperature fluctuations, while ensuring safety is a top priority.
  • Exhibit proficiency in reading and executing assembly drawings and sketches for a diverse range of assembly tasks.
  • Maintain familiarity with standard practices and procedures in the mechanical assembly field.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • A High School Diploma.
  • The capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Access to shipyards and the ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
  • OSHA and Forklift certifications.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in shipyard operations.
  • Experience in assembling simple connectors and managing HAZMAT operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings at an apprentice level.
  • Skills in using power tools for both large-scale and intricate mechanical assemblies.
  • Physical capability to lift and maneuver equipment, including the ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Additional Skills

Preferred qualifications include:

  • An active DoD secret clearance.
  • OSHA Certification.
