Plastics Engineering Internship

At Keter North America, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Plastics Engineering Intern. This internship will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in scientific molding process development and documentation, as well as exposure to various aspects of the plastics industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of operational excellence best practices and technical writing skills.
  • Gain experience in identifying inefficiencies through data acquisition and analysis of machine capability studies.
  • Support the development of new product development and extrusion projects.
  • Contribute to the growth of sustainability initiatives in the plastics industry, including recycled resins, Zero Waste, and GHG reductions.
  • Develop proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks through plant layout updates and new product development projects.
  • Apply root cause problem-solving skills to drive process improvements.
  • Gain knowledge of ASTM material and furniture testing procedures.
  • Explore various grades of Polypropylene, Silicone, Nylon, and additives.
Requirements:
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of plastic injection molding.
  • Basic experience in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks.
Education and Experience:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
