As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with the surgical team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including patient information, surgical procedures, and inventory management.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical technology.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an operating room in an acute care facility of similar or same level as Upstate (Level 1 trauma center or teaching hospital).
  • Experience with ortho, general, ENT, vascular, and GYN procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
  • Proficiency in handling surgical instruments and equipment, with a strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control protocols.
