Construction Superintendent Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent Lead to join our team at Planate Management Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of a cogeneration power plant at NAVFAC's Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC.

About You
To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least 15 years of progressively responsible experience. Experience working on NAVFAC/DoD/Federal Government projects is highly desired, as well as MEP and/or industrial experience. Additionally, you should be certified in OSHA 30 and EM 385-1-1, and possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Daily Inspections and Log Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections and maintain a written log documenting areas/operations inspected, inspection dates, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, and dates of corrections.
- Safety Inspection Logs: Attach safety inspection logs to Contractors' daily production reports.
- Mishap Investigations: Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports.
- Rapid Reporting: Report mishaps and near misses promptly.
- Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses: Log work-related injuries and illnesses occurring on the project site, and maintain the OSHA's Form 300 on the site safety bulletin board.
- Relevant Safety Reference Materials: Maintain relevant safety reference material on the job site.
- Meetings and Compliance: Attend pre-construction conferences, pre-work meetings, preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings. Review, approve, implement, and enforce Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and Accident Prevention Plans (APP) for compliance with EM 385-1-1.
- Deficiency Tracking System: Establish a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System to monitor and resolve outstanding deficiencies.
- Subcontractor Compliance: Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Hazardous Chemicals: Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site.
- High-Hazard Activities: Maintain a weekly list of high-hazard activities, such as energy, equipment, excavation, confined space entry, and elevation.
- Site Safety Orientation: Provide and document site safety orientation and indoctrination for Contractor employees, subcontractor employees, and site visitors.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $100k to $140k per annum, based on market data and depending on experience and qualifications.
