About Us:
Founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions boasts over 30 years of experience in crisis intervention, operating two of the largest and most researched crisis response centers in the country. Since our inception, we have successfully provided care and treatment to countless individuals facing crises.
Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) who will evaluate individuals and document essential information, including Triage, Behavioral Health, Physical Health, and/or Substance Abuse concerns. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Crisis Intervention and demonstrate the ability to de-escalate potentially volatile situations while educating consumers and their families about Behavioral Health diagnoses, medications, and treatment options.
- Conduct thorough Nursing Assessments, documenting vital information such as Triage, Medical/Behavioral Health evaluations, and medication administration using appropriate assessment tools. Ensure accurate recording of all medications brought in by individuals on the medication reconciliation/storage form.
- Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Clinical team to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide education on Psychiatric diagnoses, treatment alternatives, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and other stakeholders involved in the individual's care.
- Utilize effective verbal interventions to manage out-of-control or potentially dangerous behaviors, demonstrating a solid understanding of therapeutic options and techniques.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of Seclusion/Restraint standards and procedures; initiate documentation and debriefing with individuals following any seclusion/restraint incidents as required.
- Accurately transcribe Provider orders and administer medications as prescribed, ensuring individuals sign medication consent forms. Perform chart checks and sign off as a second noted on prescribed medications. Conduct lab draws and provide wound care as ordered by Providers when necessary.
- Complete nurse-to-nurse communication at discharge or when accepting individuals from other facilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing program.
- Possess an unrestricted active license as a Registered Professional Nurse through the State Board of Nursing or hold a multistate licensure privilege.
- Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
- Experience in conducting alcohol or other drug-focused nursing assessments.
- For specific locations: Level 1 fingerprint card may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or a related field.
- Previous experience in emergency room or crisis psychiatric care.
- Experience working with individuals facing addiction and managing addiction-related issues.
