Paraprofessional Assistant

An ESS substitute paraprofessional plays a vital role in supporting students with special needs, promoting academic and personal growth in a dynamic educational environment.

• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups, enhancing their learning experience.
• Assist the classroom teacher with classroom management and general supervision, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Help with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials, streamlining the educational process.
• Supervise students in various settings, including the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and during before and after school programs, promoting a culture of responsibility and respect.
• Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs, providing a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
• Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans, ensuring individualized attention and care.
• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.

• Requires either an associate's degree or equivalent to 60 college credits OR High School Diploma/GED with ParaPro Certification, ensuring a strong educational foundation.
• State/FBI Criminal History Clearance, Department of Children and Families Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Record Clearance, and Education Employment Verification - Act 16-67, guaranteeing a safe and trustworthy environment.
