Instructor of English Studies

Position Overview
This is a full-time faculty role within the English and Humanities Division at our institution. The main duties involve delivering English courses, contributing to curriculum design, and providing support to adjunct faculty members. The instructor will report to the Division Director and work collaboratively with fellow faculty and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching a total of 15 credits each term, with an emphasis on introductory composition courses
- Evaluating student learning outcomes
- Advising students regarding their academic and career aspirations
- Promoting student achievement
- Participating in the development and revision of curriculum
- Engaging in shared governance and contributing to college service initiatives
- Maintaining an ongoing professional development plan
- Involvement in community service activities
- Providing guidance and support to adjunct faculty
Qualifications
- Master's degree in English or a related discipline
- Preferred teaching experience at the undergraduate or community college level
- Strong organizational, advising, and counseling abilities
- Excellent communication skills
Work Environment
Evening classes may occasionally be required.
