Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team as a Nursing Float Team member. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in obtaining lab specimens for analysis according to physician orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Prepare specimens for testing using standard techniques and equipment.
  • Perform testing and report results in urinalysis, hematology, and chemistry.
  • Call critical values to providers per policy.
  • Maintain instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program.
  • Supports and promotes the Infection Control and Safety Policies of the organization and the laboratory.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Previous phlebotomy and specimen processing experience, as well as computer maintenance training is required.
  • Phlebotomy certificate and CPR training certification is preferred.
  • Two years phlebotomy experience required.

Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary Work: Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying items as needed.
  • Frequent Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Frequent Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by the ear.
  • Frequent Seeing: Visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision, color vision.
  • Consistent use of hand movement for keyboarding purposes.
