School & Commercial Bus Inspection Technician Specialist

Job Summary

TransForce is seeking a highly skilled School & Commercial Bus Inspection Technician to join our team. As a key member of our sales operation center, you will be responsible for inspecting new buses, making repairs, and ensuring the salable condition of our vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of school buses and contribute to our mission of providing safe and reliable transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buses to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, company standards, and customer requirements
• Perform repairs and replace defective items with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with factory standards
• Inspect for obvious damage and missing major components; to include loose or misaligned items such as trim, doors, and hardware
• Verify all fluids are correct and at proper levels
• Perform functional tests on electrical, mechanical, and safety systems
• Verify no diagnostic trouble codes are present using technicians' tools and test equipment
• Start engine and drive the vehicle to test steering, brakes, transmission, and engine operation
• Inspect surfaces to detect minor chips and scratches in paint. Touch up imperfections using brush applicator and factory-supplied matching paint
• Ensure repairs are properly documented and reports any safety issues immediately to management
• Clean and vacuum interior of vehicles, wash and polish exterior of vehicles
• Keep shop area neat and clean
• Maintain and is accountable for all Sales Operation Center owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received

Requirements

• 2+ years of PDI technician experience in the automotive, truck and/or bus industry inspecting & repairing body, chassis, electrical & powertrain component
• ASE Master School Bus Technician certification (Preferred)
• Class B CDL w/School bus & Air Brake Endorsement, or the ability to obtain first year of employment
