Cardiac Sonographer

The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing all cardiac imaging, including adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. This role requires excellent communication skills, as the Cardiac Sonographer must effectively interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
Key Responsibilities- Verify proper clinician order for procedure
- Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions
- Follow established procedures for the administration of Ultrasound Enhancing Agents (UEAs)
- Ensure that all studies have proper patient identification
- Review ultrasound images for clinically acceptable results and release patients
- Registered Medical Sonographer or Reg Cardiac Sonographer - CCI
- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
- Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program
