Job Title: Transport Team Lead Technician III

As a Transport Team Lead Technician at UCLA Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients within our facilities. Your responsibilities will include positioning, transferring, and transporting patients to and from various departments or locations using wheelchairs, beds, or gurneys, as well as lifting, turning, transferring, and repositioning patients requiring moderate to total assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment maintenance, cleaning, and disinfection
  • Assisting in the management of decedent affairs
  • Training new hire staff joining the Patient Transport and Lift Team
  • Guiding and instructing Patient Transport and Lift Team Techs on how to perform their assigned duties and maintaining daily huddles
  • Serving as Department Safe Patient Handling Champion
  • Maintaining and posting daily shift activity logs
  • Conducting administrative walkthroughs to ensure Patient Transporters and Lift Techs quality of work is in compliance
  • Serving as the Department liaison to conduct service recoveries
Requirements:
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology
  • Experience in patient transport or lift team
  • Ability to transport patients in medical equipment using correct body mechanics
  • Ability to follow established lift/transfer procedures in a safe and competent manner
  • Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively with patients
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language
  • Maintain cooperative working relationship with co-workers and all hospital staff
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner
