Job Overview

American Transportation Services is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our team. As an essential member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the fleet of trailers is in top condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on trailers to ensure they are safe and roadworthy.
  • Repair and replace brakes, S-cams, brake chambers, wheel seals, bearings, drums, hubs, hydraulic systems, trailer roofs, body panels, air ride suspension, leaf springs, roll-up doors, swing doors, landing legs, and electrical systems.
  • Detect and diagnose issues with anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and other complex trailer components.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete projects and meet deadlines.
Requirements
  • Minimum 0-3 years of experience as a trailer/chassis mechanic or similar role.
  • Possess most required tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with 7-way lighting systems and electrical repair.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts.
