- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by providers, adhering to departmental protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests, to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for further testing, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Authorize prescription refills as instructed by providers, maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient safety.
- Assist with test tracking and monitoring overdue results, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with patients and providers.
- Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary, demonstrating a commitment to patient comfort and well-being.
- Maintain and clean medical instruments and equipment after each procedure, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist with proactive outreach for patients requiring preventive and chronic disease services, promoting health and wellness through education and support.
- Perform care coordination activities among specialists and transitions of care, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Assist in coordination of referrals, education, and community resources, supporting patients and families in achieving optimal health outcomes.
- Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and quality improvement projects.
- Participate in daily huddles with healthcare providers, ensuring timely communication and coordination of patient care.
- Serve as a patient experience advocate, promoting a positive and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Completion of a LPN or RN educational program
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), issued by the PA State Board of Nursing
- AHA CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
- Occasional regional travel required, with a valid driver's license necessary for travel
- One (1) to Two (2) years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office
- Prior triage, emergency room, cardiac care, intensive care, or other related specialty nursing experience
