About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VLS Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Chenega MIOS SBU. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the refurbishment of canisters for the US Navy fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Support quality, productivity, and process improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to a high standard of housekeeping and maintain a safe working environment
  • Complete painting tasks using conventional spray guns and apply paint formulas as required
  • Prep, prime, and mask surfaces for refinishing
  • Operate forklifts to move equipment and handle company tools
  • Apply imaging decals and complete work order documentation
  • Execute repairs without direct supervision, following Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Interim Secret clearance required on day one, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance over the life of the contract
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT programs
  • Communication and supervision skills
  • Experience with orbital sanders and overhead cranes
  • Welding certifications (MIG, TIG, ARC)
  • Fabrication skills
  • Painting and respirator qualifications
  • General mechanical repairs
  • Material handling experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and maintain physical fitness
  • Ability to maintain required training and certifications
  • Ability to use computers to search for and generate information
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
