Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties
  • Utilize identification methods to confirm resident identity prior to providing care, serving meals, and other necessary tasks.
  • Document all relevant information on flow sheets, notes, and charts in a clear and comprehensive manner.
  • Employ only approved abbreviations set forth by the facility when recording details.
  • Notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any changes in the resident's health status promptly.
  • Report any accidents or incidents observed during the shift.
Admission, Transfer, and Discharge Responsibilities
  • Prepare the resident's room for their arrival (e.g., ensuring the bed is made, name tags are displayed, and admission kits are ready).
  • Welcome residents and guide them to their designated rooms.
  • Introduce residents to their roommates and other staff members as appropriate.
  • Ensure residents are comfortable (e.g., assisting them to bed, providing water, etc.).
  • Inventory and label the resident's personal belongings as directed.
  • Organize residents' clothing appropriately.
  • Assist residents in packing their personal items when transferring to a new room or upon discharge.
  • Transport residents to new locations or designated areas as needed.
  • Help with the loading and unloading of residents from vehicles when necessary.
Qualifications

Must have, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Must hold a valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in accordance with the regulations of New Jersey.
