Job Title: Recreation Aide

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Aide to join our team at Tarrytown Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a vital role in creating a engaging and enjoyable experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement recreation procedures as directed by the Recreation Director, including creating decorations, setting up equipment, and awarding prizes.
  • Assist in scheduling movies, planning parties, and providing games and activities for residents.
  • Encourage residents to participate in recreational social activities by engaging in and organizing games, crafts, religious services, and parties.
  • Assist in-room residents by visiting with them, writing letters, running errands, and making appointments as necessary.
  • Participate and guide individual and group re-motivation and reality orientation sessions to promote the worth, self-esteem, and reality level of residents.
  • Complete required documentation as directed in the resident's medical record.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • General work experience preferred but not required; will train.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The Recreation Aide must be able to lift, bend, and move with ease, as well as to stand for long periods of time.
